100 HEALTHY HABITS TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE
Have a morning routine.
A morning routine will help you get your day started on a positive note, and it will help you wake up at the same time every day if that’s something you struggle with.
Introduce affirmations.
The way you speak about yourself matters the most for your mindset. Here are 50 affirmations you can choose from each morning.
Have an evening routine.
Similarly to a morning routine, having a night routine can end your day on a relaxing and positive note. No more falling asleep on the couch in your makeup!
Drink more water.
Water is important, we all know it. So drink up. If you hate the taste of water, you can get flavored drops like this one to make it taste like juice.
Practice meditation.
A clear mind can do wonders for your health and mindset. Even 5 minutes of meditating every day can have a huge impact on you.
Walk for 30 minutes every day.
Walking is the easiest form of exercise and a super effective one at that. Put on your kicks and get moving.
Stretch after every few hours.
This is especially important if you work at a desk. YouTube has a lot of different stretches you can do to keep yourself limber and get your muscles stretched out after sitting for a long period of time.
Take a 10-minute break after every hour of work.
You need to recharge your batteries, and 10 minutes is sometimes all that is needed to do so. Remember to also take longer breaks every couple of hours.
Journal.
Journaling is an amazing way to get to know yourself better, work on your mindset, and let things go. Here are 50 journaling prompts for personal development you should try.
Invest in blue-light glasses.
The blue light coming from screens has the ability to possibly damage your eyesight in the long run. Protecting your eyes from blue light can be done using blue light-blocking glasses.
Sojos Vision specializes in all types of eyewear, including blue light glasses. Their frames are super cute too, which is a plus, so you can be stylish while protecting your eyes at the same time. Sojos Vision has kindly given my audience a discount code that you can use on all their frames. The code is 14Mariam and gets you 15% off!
Below are some of my picks, and you can view the rest of their collection, including sunglasses and prescription glasses, by clicking here.
Get up early.
The early bird really does get the worm. Or the freshly baked bread at the bakery, if that’s more your style.
Here is a post on how to wake up earlier if that’s what you want to work on.
Reading is an incredibly useful pastime to take on. Need some reading material ideas? Here are 6 of my favorite books.
Listen to podcasts.
Podcasts are great to listen to in the car or during a workout. They provide a ton of free value and entertainment. Here are 15 podcasts you should try listening to.
Have a skincare routine in place.
Skincare is so important. There are a ton of good products on the market, so do your research and stick to a routine for a few months. I’m sure you’ll see an amazing change in your skin.
Keep learning.
You are never too old to learn. Pick up a book, start a new course, or even sign up for a class in something that interests you. Here are some personal development books that will help you become a more elevated version of yourself.
Set goals for all areas of life.
Without a goal, you aren’t really working towards anything. Here is a post on how you can reach your goals.
Try something you are afraid of every month.
You cannot be happy if you’re afraid. It’s good to face your fears every once in a while. You never know, you might get to love the thing that scared you for so long!
Try a new vegetable/fruit every month.
Take a chance and try out new fruits and vegetables more often. You might find one you absolutely love!
Mix with new cultures.
All cultures are beautiful in their own way, and you can learn so much about different cultures by being around people from different walks of life.
Go to bed at a reasonable hour.
If you’re having trouble sleeping early, you might also have trouble waking up early and focusing at school/work. Try to go to bed a few minutes earlier every night until you’re able to fall asleep at an hour that works for you.
No electronics 1 hour before bed.
Pick up a book instead!
Practice mindfulness in all areas of life.
Make to-do lists.
Or any other kinds of lists. Here are 9 more lists you can make to stay organized.
Plan out your month.
This will help you get a better understanding of what your month ahead will look like. I especially recommend it for those of you who work or are in school. We all know there is always something you can forget about unless it’s penciled in.
Write it down, you will forget it.
Don’t rely on your memory. It often fails.
Have a minimum of 1 meatless day a week.
There are many health benefits to skipping meat every few days. Plus, vegetarian meals are delicious and can be easily made to mimic your favorite meat dishes.
Practice self-care.
Here are 30 ideas you can start with, one for each day of the month.
Write 3 things you are grateful for every day.
Being grateful is the key to a happy life. Every morning, write down 3 things you are thankful for.

Budget, budget, budget. You never know what might happen, so it’s important to stay below your means in order to save and invest more.

Start with $100, then work it up to $1000. You will thank yourself if you ever need it.
Here are 12 money habits that will help you with any money troubles you might have.
Work on your flexibility.
You’ll be making splits in no time.
Take vitamins regularly.
Always check with your doctor before starting any new supplements, but generally speaking, most of us need the extra help of store-bought vitamins.
Go to your medical checkups.
And be honest with your doctors. Trust me, you won’t tell them anything they’ve not heard before.
Unfollow accounts that don’t inspire you.
No more following accounts that bring you down. Get rid of them, and replace them with positive accounts.
Spend time with successful people.
You are the company you keep. So why not become successful and happy? Here are habits of successful women you should try.
Eat less processed foods.
Add more fresh foods to your diet for healthy skin, hair, nails and a healthy body.

Find a charity you can donate to regularly.
There are so many different charities you can choose from. Choose one that speaks to you the most.
Take the stairs more often.
Declutter your space.
Get rid of the stuff you don’t use. If you’ve not used it in 2 years, you will probably never reach for it.
Be a good listener.
Many of us are good talkers, but it’s also good to be a good listener for other people.
Make time for your loved ones.
Your work will always be there waiting for you.
Call your grandparents regularly.
Life is short. Give them a call every few days.
Take responsibility for your actions.
Here’s how you can become better at this.
Take control of your finances.
Start with what you do with your money on payday. Here’s a handy post that will help with that.
Donate your unworn clothes.
If you don’t wear it, get rid of it.
Do something you’ve never done before.
Check things off your bucket list!
Once in a while, take risks.
Be bold. You might surprise yourself.
Be punctual.
There’s nothing fashionable about being late. It’s rude- be on time.
Eat as little sugar as you can.
Processed sugar is terrible for the body. Opt for natural sugars instead.
Prioritize your health.
Walk more. Go on a run. Eat healthier. Take your vitamins.
Make your mental health a priority.
Work on your mental health as much as you work on your physical health.
Learn how to spend time alone.
You won’t be happy with others if you can’t be happy on your own.
Wear sunscreen every day.
If you do only one of these healthy habits, let it be this. Sunscreen is the most important thing you can put on your skin. Here’s my absolute favorite sunscreen I wear every single day.
If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it.
Don’t try to fit in with the Joneses. There’s more to life than a nice handbag or some expensive shoes.
Save energy whenever possible.
If you’re exiting a room, turn off the lights. Close the tap when you’re brushing your teeth. These habits will pay off.
Learn to say no.
You don’t need to do it all, and you shouldn’t. Sometimes you should say no and not feel guilty about it.
Take on a hobby.
Knitting, drawing, painting, horseback riding… there are tons of hobbies to try!
Get a humidifier.
Having a humidifier in your home can help you treat dryness of the skin. They’re also great to have when you’re sick. Here’s an affordable humidifier option.
Take more baths.
Add some bath salts and relax. You deserve it.
Use Himalayan pink salt instead of table salt.
It’s so much healthier. Make the swap.
Always have some vegetables with your meals.
This is the easiest way to add more greens to your diet. If you don’t like eating vegetables, try drinking your greens in a smoothie.
Find natural ways to relieve stress.
We all deal with stress, and finding natural ways to combat it, if you can, is going to definitely help. Try things like essential oils and chamomile tea.
Have regular brain dumps.
Our brains are constantly going. Get some of those thoughts out on paper whenever you can.
Have plants in your home.
Diffuse essential oils daily.
Essential oils are a great alternative to candles if you think they are too strong. Plus, essential oils have tons of benefits.
Deep condition your hair every week.
If you don’t do this already, here is your sign to start. Olaplex No.3 is an amazing deep-conditioning treatment for all hair types.
Learn to think positively.
A happy mind is the key to a happy life.
Find a workout you enjoy and do it 3x a week.
If you don’t enjoy it, you won’t stick to it. Try out new forms of exercise and find one you like.
Limit drinking soda.
Opt for sparkling water with lemon instead.
When out at a restaurant, choose fish over red meat.
Once in a while, treat yourself. But try to eat more white meat than red meat.
Add superfoods to your diet.
Think berries, fish, nuts, avocados, fermented foods, and spices like turmeric.
Keep your heart happy with regular cardio.
Light cardio like a brisk walk can help keep your heart happy.
Cut out people who don’t make you feel good about yourself.
You should only keep people around who lift you up and give you constructive criticism. Ditch those negative Nancys.
Surround yourself with beauty.
Whether you decorate your home beautifully, have a small garden, or even buy yourself fresh flowers every once in a while, surrounding yourself with beautiful things can put you in a good mood.
Drink less alcohol.
Treat yourself every once in a while, but try not to go overboard.
Walk instead of driving.
If you can walk instead of driving, do it. It will pay off.
Go for dental checkups.
Get those pearly whites checked every once in a while. Your dentist can find something small that in the future could become a real problem. For more tips on how to keep your teeth healthy, check out this post.
Replace refined grains with whole grains.
Not only are they less processed, but they taste great too!
Lower your caffeine consumption.
Stick to healthy habits.
To make it a habit, stick to it for a few weeks.
Use more natural-based products in your hair and skincare.
Deep clean your home often.
There’s nothing better than stepping into a clean home. You can pick up your house at night, but you should also do a deep clean every once in a while.
Watch less TV.
Opt for books or podcasts instead of watching so much TV.
Try natural remedies for aches.
Choose organic whenever possible.
Because organic foods are more expensive, only buy them whenever you can. They are better for you in the long run.

You should always wash your face before you sleep, especially if you wear makeup.

Opt for white meat most of the time, and have red meat occasionally.
Keep an organized workspace.
The less clutter you have on your desk, the better for your focus.

Aside from fruits and vegetables, keep foods like popcorn, healthy dips, and granola bars.
Schedule time to recharge daily.
Scheduling your breaks into your to-do list is a good habit to keep in order to remember to take them!

It’s not cute to always be angry. Learn to take your anger out in healthy ways, like through exercise.
